Statement regarding LockBit claims

Earlier this morning we became aware of tweets from LockBit, the cyber-criminal gang, claiming that they had compromised Darktrace’s internal security systems and had accessed our data. Our security teams have run a full review of our internal systems and can see no evidence of compromise. None of the LockBit social media posts link to any compromised Darktrace data. We will continue to monitor the situation extremely closely, but based on our current investigations we are confident that our systems remain secure and all customer data is fully protected.

Darktrace, the leader in Enterprise Immune System technology, has today announced that Aqua-Leisure Industries, Inc. of Avon, Massachusetts, Hong Kong and Shanghai, China has deployed its innovative self-learning technology to autonomously detect emerging cyber-threats, while providing unparalleled visibility into every corner of its network.

When it comes to cyber defense, Darktrace’s AI technology is setting the bar for technological innovation,” commented Leonard Galinsky, Director of IT, at Aqua-Leisure. “The Enterprise Immune System’s unique ability to identify threats in real time has allowed us to remain proactive in the face of an increasingly-sophisticated cyber climate. Further, it has allowed us to glean unprecedented insights from our network. We now feel confident in our security stack’s abilities to detect any emerging cyber-attacks, regardless of their entry point.”

Aqua-Leisure Industries, founded in 1970, has nearly 50 years of experience designing, manufacturing and distributing a comprehensive line of swim & dive, leisure time, educational aquatic products, as well as sporting goods, throughout the world. The company’s network hosts intellectual property and sensitive customer, employee, and partner information.  Safeguarding this critical data is a top business priority and Aqua-Leisure wanted to adopt a proactive approach to cyber defense in the face of a rapidly-evolving threat landscape.

After a comprehensive review of the market, Aqua-Leisure deployed Darktrace’s Enterprise Immune System to detect emerging cyber-threats in real time and to gain complete visibility into its network. Deployed in under an hour, the Enterprise Immune System instantly revealed a network of over 300 devices with only 55 users – a number that was unexpected by the IT team.

Modeled after the human immune system, Darktrace’s technology leverages unsupervised machine learning and AI algorithms to learn a ‘pattern of life’ for every user and device on Aqua-Leisure’s network. From this adaptive understanding of ‘self’, it can then identify threatening anomalies at their nascent stages, allowing Aqua-Leisure’s security team to remediate issues before they can do any damage. As an intrinsic part of the Enterprise Immune System, the 3D Threat Visualizer provides complete network visibility of all devices on the network, including rogue devices, BYOD, and IoT.

Manufacturing organizations face a growing challenge to safeguard their sensitive partner and customer information in the midst of a sophisticated threat landscape,” commented Rob Sass, Managing Director, Darktrace. “Frequently targeted by digital bandits, these organizations are increasingly turning to the immune system approach, which is uniquely positioned to identify and neutralize modern, pernicious attacks as they emerge, regardless of their origin. By arming themselves with the Enterprise Immune System, Aqua-Leisure is leading the charge for proactive cyber defense.”
