Statement regarding LockBit claims

Earlier this morning we became aware of tweets from LockBit, the cyber-criminal gang, claiming that they had compromised Darktrace’s internal security systems and had accessed our data. Our security teams have run a full review of our internal systems and can see no evidence of compromise. None of the LockBit social media posts link to any compromised Darktrace data. We will continue to monitor the situation extremely closely, but based on our current investigations we are confident that our systems remain secure and all customer data is fully protected.

Darktrace, a global leader in cyber security AI, today announced that Frost & Sullivan recognized the company with the North American ‘Technology Innovation Leadership Award’ for its work in the Industrial Cyber Security AI market.

Frost & Sullivan applies a rigorous analytical process to evaluate multiple nominees before determining the final award recipient. The process involves a detailed evaluation of best practices across the following criteria: commitment to innovation and creativity, commercialization success, application diversity and financial performance, customer acquisition, operational efficiency, growth potential, and others. Frost & Sullivan concluded that Darktrace’s Industrial Immune System excels in many of the criteria for its innovations in the Industrial Cyber Security AI space.

“Companies can no longer rely on baselines or rules or signatures that fail to detect the ‘unknown unknowns’,” commented Sankara Narayanan, Senior Industry Analyst at Frost & Sullivan. “Darktrace has consistently proven its ability to catch novel and never-before-seen attacks across its customer base. The strength of its Self-Learning AI-based approach to industrial cyber defense is underscored by the fact that all 16 CISA critical infrastructure sectors — among the most sensitive and vital cyber-ecosystems in the US — rely upon Darktrace’s Self-Learning AI to defend their environments.”

In the report accompanying the award, Frost & Sullivan noted that it was impressed by Darktrace’s ability to provide unified protection across IT, operational technology (OT), and other complex cyber-physical ecosystems, as well as its ability to stop attacks in IT before they spill over into other systems. Frost & Sullivan added that Darktrace's Antigena and Cyber AI Analyst inventions further enhance customer value by providing autonomous response and investigation capabilities.

“As attacks like ransomware and supply chain compromises continue to threaten critical industrial environments, organizations urgently need adaptive technologies that can take action to maintain operations in a safe capacity,” commented Dr. Jeff Cornelius, EVP of Cyber-Physical Security at Darktrace. “It is an honor to be recognized by Frost & Sullivan for our unique strength in protecting OT and National Critical Infrastructure.”
