Justin Fier, VP, Tactical Risk and Response

Justin is one of the US’s leading cyber intelligence experts, and holds the position of VP, Tactical Risk and Response at Darktrace. His insights on cyber security and artificial intelligence have been widely reported in leading media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, CNN, The Washington Post, and VICELAND. With over 10 years’ experience in cyber defense, Justin has supported various elements in the US intelligence community, holding mission-critical security roles with Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman Mission Systems and Abraxas. Justin is also a highly-skilled technical specialist, and works with Darktrace’s strategic global customers on threat analysis, defensive cyber operations, protecting IoT, and machine learning.

Marcus Fowler, SVP, Strategic Engagements and Threats

As SVP of Strategic Engagements and Threats, Marcus works closely with senior security leaders across industries on cyber security strategy and business resilience, including across Darktrace’s Federal Division. Marcus focuses his research and analysis around emerging and next generation cyber threats, trends, and conflicts. Prior to joining Darktrace in 2019, Marcus spent 15 years at the Central Intelligence Agency developing global cyber operations and technical strategies. He has led cyber efforts with various US Intelligence Community elements and global partners. Prior to serving at the CIA, Marcus was an officer in the United States Marine Corps. Marcus has an engineering degree from the United States Naval Academy and a Masters’ Degree in International Security Studies from The Fletcher School. He also completed Harvard Business School’s Executive Education Advanced Management Program.

Andrew Tsonchev, Director of Technology

Andrew is a technical expert on cyber security and advises Darktrace’s strategic customers on advanced threat defense, AI and autonomous response. He has a background in threat analysis and research, and holds a first-class degree in physics from Oxford University and a first-class degree in philosophy from King’s College London. His comments on cyber security and the threat to critical national infrastructure have been reported in international media, including CNBC and the BBC World.

Max Heinemeyer, VP, Cyber Innovation

Max is a cyber security expert with over a decade of experience in the field, specializing in a wide range of areas such as Penetration Testing, Red-Teaming, SIEM and SOC consulting and hunting Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) groups. At Darktrace, Max oversees global threat hunting efforts, working with strategic customers to investigate and respond to cyber-threats. He works closely with the R&D team at Darktrace’s Cambridge UK headquarters, leading research into new AI innovations and their various defensive and offensive applications. Max’s insights are regularly featured in international media outlets such as the BBC, Forbes and WIRED. When living in Germany, he was an active member of the Chaos Computer Club. Max holds an MSc from the University of Duisburg-Essen and a BSc from the Cooperative State University Stuttgart in International Business Information Systems.

Toby Lewis, Head of Threat Analysis

Prior to joining Darktrace, Toby spent 15 years in the UK Government’s cyber security threats response unit, including as the UK National Cyber Security Centre’s Deputy Technical Director for Incident Management. He has specialist expertise in Security Operations, having worked across Cyber Threat Intelligence, Incident Management, and Threat Hunting. He has presented at several high-profile events, including the NCSC’s flagship conference, CyberUK, the SANS CyberThreat conference, and the Cheltenham Science Festival. He was a lead contributor to the first CyberFirst Girls Competition, championing greater gender diversity in STEM and cyber security. Toby is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and holds a Master’s in Engineering from the University of Bristol.

David Masson, Director of Enterprise Security

David Masson is Darktrace’s Director of Enterprise Security, and has over two decades of experience working in fast moving security and intelligence environments in the UK, Canada and worldwide. With skills developed in the civilian, military and diplomatic worlds, he has been influential in the efficient and effective resolution of various unique national security issues. David is an operational solutions expert and has a solid reputation across the UK and Canada for delivery tailored to customer needs. At Darktrace, David advises strategic customers across North America and is also a regular contributor to major international and national media outlets in Canada where he is based. He holds a master’s degree from Edinburgh University.

Nabil Zoldjalali, VP, Technology Innovation

Based in Toronto, Nabil develops innovative ways to continuously realize the Darktrace technology vision, working closely with Darktrace’s Research & Development team. He advises strategic Fortune 500 customers across North America on advanced threat detection, Self-Learning AI, and Autonomous Response. Nabil is a frequent speaker at leading industry conferences across North America, including Microsoft Ignite, Black Hat, and the World AI Forum. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from McGill University and is an advisory board member of the EC Council.

David Mata, SVP, Global Crisis Management

David Mata served 12 years at the Central Intelligence Agency developing and executing global cyber operations. In his last role as Mission Director, David coordinated and oversaw numerous multi-agency national security operations focusing on deconfliction, tradecraft and execution. In addition to his extensive career in the intelligence community, David served as VP in the Threat Management Center for Goldman Sachs where he specialized in Cyber Intelligence and Insider Threat. David now leads the Darktrace Analyst team in the Americas and ensures strategic global customers are achieving maximal value and optimization in their cyber platform and solutions sets.

Brianna Leddy, Director of Analysis

Based in San Francisco, Brianna is Director of Analysis at Darktrace. She joined the analyst team in 2016 and has since advised a wide range of enterprise customers on advanced threat hunting and leveraging Self-Learning AI for detection and response. Brianna works closely with the Darktrace SOC team to proactively alert customers to emerging threats and investigate unusual behavior in enterprise environments. Brianna holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

Dan Fein, VP, Product

Based in New York, Dan joined Darktrace’s technical team in 2015, helping customers quickly achieve a complete and granular understanding of Darktrace’s product suite. Dan has a particular focus on Darktrace for Email, ensuring that it is effectively deployed in complex digital environments, and works closely with the development, marketing, sales, and technical teams. Dan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from New York University.

Mariana Pereira, Director of Email Security Products

Mariana is the Director of Email Security Products at Darktrace, with a primary focus on the capabilities of AI cyber defenses against email-borne attacks. Mariana works closely with the development, analyst, and marketing teams to advise technical and non-technical audiences on how best to augment cyber resilience within the email domain, and how to implement AI technology as a means of defense. She speaks regularly at international events, with a specialism in presenting on sophisticated, AI-powered email attacks. She holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, and speaks several languages including French, Italian, and Portuguese.

Jeff Cornelius, EVP, Cyber-Physical Security

Jeff Cornelius joined Darktrace in February of 2015 as Executive Vice President and oversees Darktrace’s Cyber-Physical Security solutions while serving as a subject matter expert around Darktrace’s solutions for OT/ICS environments. Jeff has been the featured/keynote speaker at numerous international events and conferences and regularly shares insights at global events. Prior to joining, Darktrace, Jeff held a several C-level and Executive Commercial positions delivering subject matter expertise in the security, compliance and governance sectors. Jeff holds advanced degrees in Experimental Psychology (Social, Cognition, Perception) and Experimental Statistics and previously taught at the University of Texas and New Mexico State University where he held adjunct positions.

Chris Thomas, VP, Industrial

Chris joined Darktrace in 2015 and spent four years as a lead ICS technologist, before becoming Global Head of Darktrace Industrial. Chris oversees some of Darktrace’s most strategic accounts, helping extend self-learning AI across a variety of Operational Technology environments and protect Critical National Infrastructure. Chris holds a BA in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Karim Benslimane, Director of Cyber Intelligence

Karim Benslimane is Darktrace’s Director of Cyber Intelligence, working with clients in the public and private sector to analyse the most sophisticated cyber-threats today, and advising security professionals on the employment of artificial intelligence to strengthen their defensive strategy. Prior to joining Darktrace, Karim was Information & Communication Director at the Singapore Sports Hub, Head of IT at Vinci Stadium, and the IT Research & Development Manager at Stade de France. Karim is a technical specialist in cyber and counter-terrorism exercises with over two decades of experience defending the sports and event industry from sophisticated threats. He has led major IT and cyber security projects for international arenas and events such as the Football World Cup, Rugby World Cup, World Athletics Championships and over 500 games and concerts. He is based in Singapore.

Tony Jarvis is Director of Enterprise Security, Asia Pacific and Japan, at Darktrace. Tony is a seasoned cyber security strategist who has advised Fortune 500 companies around the world on best practice for managing cyber risk. He has counselled governments, major banks and multinational companies, and his comments on cyber security and the rising threat to critical national infrastructure have been reported in local and international media including CNBC, Channel News Asia and The Straits Times. Before joining Darktrace, Tony previously served as CTO at Check Point and held senior advisory positions at FireEye, Standard Chartered Bank and Telstra.
