Nicole Eagan, CEO

Nicole Eagan is co-CEO of Darktrace. Her extensive career spans 25 years working for Oracle and early to late-stage growth companies. Named ‘Cybersecurity CEO of the Year 2019’ (Global CEO Excellence Awards) and one of HMG’s ‘Top 100 Technology Executives to Watch’ in 2019, Nicole has introduced disruptive machine learning to enterprises of all sizes. Under her leadership, Darktrace has won more than 100 awards and the company has been named one of WSJ's ‘Tech Companies to Watch’, Fast Company's ‘Most Innovative Companies’, and a CNBC ‘Disruptor 50’.

Poppy Gustafsson, CEO

Poppy is co-CEO of Darktrace, which under her leadership has reached a 1,65 milliard USD valuation in under five years, and was named Europe’s 9th ‘Fastest Growing European Company’ by The Financial Times, and ‘Fastest Growing Super Scale-up’ by Tech Tour. Poppy is a qualified chartered accountant and previously served as the company’s CFO. Prior to Darktrace, Poppy held financial controller positions in the technology and venture capital sector. She was the winner of the ‘Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Awards 2019,’ and recognized in Management Today’s ‘30 Women under 35’ list in 2018, whose alumnae include Martha Lane Fox and Karen Blackett.

Jack Stockdale, Chief Technology Officer

Jack Stockdale is the founding CTO at Darktrace. With over 20 years’ experience of software engineering, Jack is responsible for overseeing the development of Bayesian mathematical models and artificial intelligence algorithms that underpin Darktrace’s award-winning technology. Jack and his development team in Cambridge were recognized for their outstanding contribution to engineering by the Royal Academy of Engineering MacRobert Innovation Award Committee in 2017 and again in 2019. Jack has a degree in Computer Science from Lancaster University.

Eloy Avila, Chief Technology Officer, Americas

Eloy Avila has over fourteen years’ experience in enterprise software. Based in San Francisco, he works closely with Darktrace’s R&D team to develop its world-leading cyber AI, and oversees the technology’s strategic direction in the US, Latin America and Canada. Prior to Darktrace, Eloy led global engineering teams at a number of listed technology companies, and has helped design and build ultra-efficient electric vehicles in the US and Australia. Eloy holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, California.

Emily Orton, Chief Marketing Officer

Emily is one of the founding members of Darktrace and has worked in technology marketing and communications for ten years. Her commentary on the cyber security challenge has been reported in leading media outlets including BBC News, Sky News and Channel 4, and she was named in the ‘Maserati 100’ index of British entrepreneurs in The Sunday Times in 2018. Emily holds an MA in Modern Languages from the University of Cambridge.

Nick Trim, Chief Revenue Officer

Nick Trim has fifteen years' experience working for the UK government, where he helped create cutting-edge operational capabilities to defend critical national infrastructure against a range of threats. Nick has worked extensively with partners around the world, and is an expert in human intelligence and social engineering. He has also worked as a cyber consultant, advising large companies on their areas of vulnerability. Nick was a founding member of Darktrace and oversees commercial strategy. Nick has an MA in History from Durham University.

Rachel Elias-Jones, Financial Director

Rachel oversees the financial strategy for the company’s long-term growth, working closely with operations and sales teams. Rachel has over twelve years’ experience in finance and is a qualified chartered accountant. Her experience in audit includes previous roles at Grant Thornton and PwC. Prior to joining Darktrace, Rachel was Chief Finance Officer at leading payment platform Bango PLC, where her responsibilities included spearheading relationships with institutional investors and analysts and overseeing two acquisitions and a series of funding rounds. Rachel has a degree in History from the University of St Andrews.

Richard Eaton, General Counsel

Richard Eaton has over thirty years' experience advising technology companies. As General Counsel, Richard oversees Darktrace’s global legal team and also serves as Company Secretary to the Darktrace board. Prior to Darktrace, Richard was a partner at international technology law firm Bird & Bird, where he focused his practice on venture capital, M&A and public offerings. He trained at Allen & Overy, where he qualified as a solicitor in 1990, before becoming a partner at Brobeck Hale and Dorr in 1999.

Dave Palmer, Director of Technology

Dave is the Director of Technology at Darktrace, overseeing the mathematics and engineering teams and project strategies. With over 19 years of experience at the forefront of government intelligence operations, Dave has worked across UK intelligence agencies GCHQ and MI5, where he was responsible for delivering mission-critical infrastructure services, including replacing and securing entire global networks, the development of operational internet capabilities and the management of critical disaster recovery incidents. He acts as an advisor to cyber security start-ups and growth-stage companies from the UK Government’s Cyber Security Accelerator and CyLon. His insights on AI and the future of cyber security are also regularly featured in the UK media. He holds a first-class degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering from the University of Birmingham.

Andrew Tsonchev, Director of Technology

Andrew is a technical expert on cyber security and advises Darktrace’s strategic customers on advanced threat defense, AI and autonomous response. He has a background in threat analysis and research, and holds a first-class degree in physics from Oxford University and a first-class degree in philosophy from King’s College London. His comments on cyber security and the threat to critical national infrastructure have been reported in international media, including CNBC and the BBC World.

Justin Fier, Director of Cyber Intelligence & Analytics

Justin is one of the US’s leading cyber intelligence experts, and holds the position of Director for Cyber Intelligence & Analytics at Darktrace. His insights on cyber security and artificial intelligence have been widely reported in leading media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, CNN, The Washington Post, and VICELAND. With over 10 years of experience in cyber defense, Justin has supported various elements in the US intelligence community, holding mission-critical security roles with Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman Mission Systems and Abraxas. Justin is also a highly-skilled technical specialist, and works with Darktrace’s strategic global customers on threat analysis, defensive cyber operations, protecting IoT, and machine learning.

Michael Beck, Global Head of Threat Analysis

Mike Beck has 10 years' experience as operational advisor and delivery lead for a range of national security programmes in the UK government. With vast experience of consulting on tactical cyber defense, he oversees the support and training of Darktrace clients post-implementation. Prior to joining Darktrace in 2014, Mike also served as a GovCERT UK practitioner, defending against a wide range of cyber threats. Mike was also deployed as a civilian advisor to a number of active operational commands within the UK military. He holds a first-class degree in Computer Science from the University of Plymouth, and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a GIAC Incident Handler.

Max Heinemeyer, Director of Threat Hunting

Max is a cyber security expert with over nine years’ experience in the field, specializing in network monitoring and offensive security. At Darktrace, Max works with strategic customers to help them investigate and respond to threats, as well as overseeing the cyber security analyst team in the Cambridge UK headquarters. Prior to his current role, Max led the Threat and Vulnerability Management department for Hewlett-Packard in Central Europe. In this role he worked as a white hat hacker, leading penetration tests and red team engagements. He was also part of the German Chaos Computer Club when he was still living in Germany. Max holds a MSc from the University of Duisburg-Essen and a BSc from the Cooperative State University Stuttgart in International Business Information Systems.

Al Martin, VP, Technical Operations

Al has over 14 years' experience in enterprise software. Prior to joining Darktrace, he was responsible for the creation and growth of the HP Professional Services Solutions organization. Al is responsible for customer-facing technical teams at Darktrace, ensuring the highest standards of consistency and service across the customer experience. Al holds a first-class degree in Computer Science from the University of Sheffield.

Sanjay Aurora, Managing Director, Asia Pacific

As Managing Director of Darktrace in Asia Pacific, Sanjay has spearheaded the company’s regional growth since 2015. With over 25 years’ experience in the enterprise software industry, Sanjay has introduced Darktrace’s innovative technology to organizations of all sizes across the region. His views on the evolution of cyber-threats and the power of AI for autonomous response have been reported by Channel News Asia and CNBC. Sanjay has a degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.

Don Avant, VP, Customer Experience

Don is responsible for all aspects of customer success at Darktrace. He has a legacy of successful project and program management that spans more than 25 years. He started his professional career as an engineer with the Bechtel Corporation, before moving into the Professional Services industry. First with Arthur Andersen and then with Ernst & Young Global, Don directed global functional teams in both Finance and IT. Prior to Darktrace, Don served as Vice President for Hewlett-Packard, where he held multiple leadership roles in the Software Business Unit. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Rob Sass, Managing Director, North America

Rob Sass has over 30 years' experience in the enterprise software industry, holding Senior Vice President of Sales roles for 13 years prior to Darktrace. Joining the company in 2013, Rob was instrumental in founding the North America division, and is responsible for key strategic accounts across the U.S. and Canada. Rob holds a degree in Business Economics from the State University of New York.

Gary Szukalski, Chief Channel Management Officer

Gary is a widely-respected software executive with decades of experience in business development and marketing enterprise software. He built a world-class sales team at Filetek where he was President and CMO, and was SVP of Field Marketing and Demand Generation for Verity. He is based in the Washington D.C. area in the US, and works closely with the worldwide Darktrace sales organization overseeing its global partner program and indirect sales channel.

Craig Sutherland, Director of Customer Operations

Craig joined Darktrace in 2018, following a 29-year career in military service, having served with the Royal Corps of Signals, UK Special Forces and Defence Intelligence. With extensive operational and program management experience, including expertise in offensive and defensive cyber operations, he now oversees all of our Customer Operations post-implementation. He has served on every continent, has a detailed knowledge of National Security and Counter-Terrorism operations, and has expertise in the provision of secure, end-to-end, mission-critical voice and data services on a global scale. Craig holds a master’s in Defence Technology from Cranfield University, and is a Graduate of the City and Guilds Institute.

John Richardson OBE, Director of Operations & Security

John Richardson has twenty years' experience in the security and defense sector. He has worked across several UK government departments, concentrating on the development and exploitation of internet technologies and cyber security measures, for national security and the protection of critical national infrastructures. John specializes in the application of technical intelligence to dynamic threat environments and operational risk mitigation strategies. He holds a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, an MBA, and is a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, and the Chartered Institute for IT.

Emmanuel Meriot, Country Manager, France & Spain

Emmanuel Meriot joined Darktrace in 2014 as Country Manager for France and Spain. He has over 20 years' experience in the enterprise software industry, specializing in the delivery of innovative technology projects for global corporations and was a former contributor to Les Echos. Emmanuel was previously Managing Director for Southern Europe at HP's Information Management division, with responsibility for key strategic accounts. Emmanuel began his career at Xerox and subsequently helped to create the US software company Vantive. He has a master’s degree in business management.

Corrado Broli, Country Manager, Italy

Corrado Broli has over 25 years' experience in the enterprise software industry, focusing on strategic sales and business development. He has served as Country Manager for Italy at several global IT companies, managing major accounts across Italy and Europe and contributing to some of the largest software implementations in the region. He holds a degree in Electronic Engineering, with a major in Business Management, from the Politecnico di Milano.

Yuji Ashiya, Country Manager, Japan

Yuji Ashiya has over 10 years’ professional experience in the cybersecurity industry. Yuji started his career at McAfee, where he worked extensively across telco, manufacturing and public sectors in Japan. Prior to joining Darktrace in January 2016, Yuji worked for FireEye, playing a critical role in introducing their malware solution to central governments and local Japanese municipalities. At Darktrace, Yuji leads the commercial team across Japan, heading up offices in both Tokyo and Osaka.

David Masson, Director of Enterprise Security

David Masson is Darktrace’s Director of Enterprise Security, and has over two decades of experience working in fast moving security and intelligence environments in the UK, Canada and worldwide. With skills developed in the civilian, military and diplomatic worlds, he has been influential in the efficient and effective resolution of various unique national security issues. Dave is an operational solutions expert and has a solid reputation across the UK and Canada for delivery tailored to customer needs. At Darktrace, David advises strategic customers across North America and is also a regular contributor to major media outlets in Canada where he is based, included CBC and The Globe and Mail. He holds a master’s degree from Edinburgh University.
