Mike Beck is Global CISO of Darktrace, a global leader in AI for cybersecurity that protects nearly 10,000 organizations globally from evolving threats across their digital environment, including cloud, email, network, and operational technology. As Global CISO, Mike leads Darktrace’s internal security and information technology (IT) program, ensuring the delivery of a secure and compliant IT environment that supports global employees, customers, and partners.
Mike has over 20 years of experience in technology, security, and risk operations. He joined Darktrace in 2014 as Global Head of Threat Analysis, less than a year after the company’s founding. Within this role, Mike led the development of Darktrace’s cyber analyst operation, which now provides thousands of customers with 24/7 support.
Mike started his career as a software engineer at GCHQ, the UK's intelligence, security, and cyber agency, and progressed to support military operations. Throughout his career, he has conducted intelligence analysis and assessment in operational theatres across the world, becoming a senior intelligence officer. In 2010, Mike merged his intelligence and technology experience to run cyber defensive operations for UK government, including working on the implementation of the national cyber security strategy and protecting the London 2012 Olympic Games.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Plymouth.
