Stephen Pickman is Chief Technology Officer of Darktrace, a leader in behavioral security, enabling nearly 10,000 organizations worldwide to secure what AI can do. With its Adaptive AI, Darktrace continuously learns the unique behavior of each organization to protect AI, people, and infrastructure across the modern enterprise.

As CTO, Stephen leads Darktrace's technology strategy and R&D organization, overseeing the development and evolution of the technology and product set defending against today's most complex and evolving threats.  

Stephen joined the company in 2017 as a Software Engineer and rose to Product Development Lead and then SVP of Engineering, shaping both the technology and the R&D culture along the way. He led the development of Darktrace / EMAIL, built multiple proofs of concept that became part of the wider product set, and more recently helped drive the rapid development of the company's AI security capabilities.

Stephen holds a degree in Physics from the University of Cambridge.
