Threat actors launched an account compromise attack in an attempt to impersonate a legitimate sender and redirect payment funds in an existing deal.
Darktrace immediately detected this business email compromise (BEC) and blocked outgoing malicious emails from the compromised account, containing the threat before funds were misdirected. As part of the Managed Detection and Response service, expert analysts investigated the BEC, saving the security team time in investigation and remediation.
