In January 2023, the European Parliament introduced NIS2 as a successor to the original Network and Information Security (NIS) Directive, with a focus on further strengthening the resilience, information security, and infrastructure security of critical entities within the EU. The process for member states to implement national legislation to comply with the Directive is currently ongoing, but organisations can already begin to prepare for the important changes that will follow on from the NIS2 Directive.
