The customer — referred to here as “the manufacturer” — is a US-based global manufacturer and supplier of bolting, gaskets, and sealing solutions that serves energy companies and a growing range of industrial customers worldwide. The company is actively embracing AI technologies across its business, exploring initiatives such as Microsoft Copilot, AI-powered agents, CRM-connected lead generation, and request-for-quote workflow improvements. As AI adoption accelerated, the manufacturer partnered with Darktrace to gain visibility into employee AI usage, helping the organization develop data-driven governance policies that support innovation while protecting company information.

Customer Challenge

Although the manufacturer had rolled out a number of new AI-based tools, it had no insight into how they were being used. The company lacked visibility into usage trends, tool effectiveness, and how the tools were being incorporated into employees’ day-to-day workflows.

Partner Solution

The manufacturer deployed Darktrace / SECURE AI to gain visibility into how AI was being adopted across its workforce. / SECURE AI provided real-time data on employee AI usage and surfaced trends in how the tools were being used.

Darktrace / SECURE AI is a SaaS platform, hosted on AWS and running as containerized workloads on Kubernetes, that gives enterprises unified monitoring and detection across the enterprise AI services used throughout their business. The platform ingests generative-AI telemetry from a wide range of enterprise AI tools — including Amazon Bedrock, Microsoft Copilot, Claude Enterprise, ChatGPT Enterprise, and SASE platform logs — and applies Darktrace’s Adaptive AI to detect behavioral anomalies across AI interactions. For AWS, / SECURE AI integrates natively with Amazon Bedrock in the customer’s tenant, analyzing model-invocation logs from the foundation models available through it (such as Amazon Nova and Anthropic Claude). The / SECURE AI policy-compliance engine calls the Amazon Nova Lite model via the Bedrock Converse API to summarise uploaded policy documents into compliance criteria and evaluate whether prompts comply — with those documents stored in Amazon S3. The platform is secured with standard best-practice AWS-native controls.

Results and Benefits

With / SECURE AI, the manufacturer gained real-time visibility into employee AI usage and adoption trends and is using these insights directly to inform the drafting of its AI usage policy.

By observing how many employees were making use of a particular product, the manufacturer was able to feed data from / SECURE AI back to its executive teams to report on progress and shape wider AI adoption conversations. Seeing healthy, appropriate use also put the security team more at ease about AI adoption across the company, allowing further AI investment to proceed with less friction.
